On Saturday, September 29th, over 1,000 MacDill Air Force Base personnel and civilians celebrated the 65th anniversary of the United States Air Force with their annual gala ball at the Tampa Convention Center. The event featured a keynote address by General Norton Schwartz, the Air Force’s Chief-of-Staff who is retiring. This was General Schwartz’ last official function.
“The economic impact of MacDill Air Force Base in our community is tremendous,” said PLANTZ president Steve Stanford. “The bigger impact is from the men and women who service so courageously in our armed forces. At PLANTZ, we do what we can to support the base and its mission in Tampa and around the globe.”
PLANTZ was the green sponsor of the event, providing tropical foliage for the stage and event hall as a gift to MacDill Air Force Base.
