GreenFest This Weekend

Tampa’s annual celebration of all things green, better known as GreenFest, is this Saturday and Sunday at Henry B. Plant Park on the beautiful University of Tampa campus.  It features more than 80 vendors offering a variety of trees, gardening accessories, tool sharpening, and yard art. plantz-tampa-bay-times

Once again PLANTZ will be among the plant-loving purveyors on hand to offer –

  • Slightly (and some not-so-slightly) used plants that have been retired from their rookie jobs gracing the interior of Tampa Bay’s most prominent businesses –  These plants have been “seasoned” and only require a good dose of sunlight, fertilizer, and water to get them back to their “natural” Florida form.
  • New and used decorative containers in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes – We have A LOT of extra planters that we’re going to let go at super-low prices.  If you are looking for a great finishing touch for that interior or patio plant, you’ll likely find it among our collection at GreenFest.
  • Advice on how to keep your houseplants alive and thriving in less-than-ideal locations – In fact, PLANTZ president Steve Stanford will be giving a presentation in the Speaker’s Tent at 2:30 on Saturday.  His subject – Don’t Kill Your Houseplants:  Using Sub-Irrigation to Keep Your Houseplants Thriving – is sure to dispel many of the myths associated with keeping some green in your scene.
  • The most awesome and durable interior foliage on the earth – It’s true…PLANTZ spends its working days placing plants in corporate interior environments (and some really cool after-hours parties and events) and we are geared up to give you advice on the best plants for your home or office.  Just stop by our booth, and we’ll put you in the right direction.

Please join us at GreenFest this weekend.  Your $3.00 donation at the door supports the Friends of Plant Park and their efforts to preserve and maintain H.B. Plant Park and its gardens as a testament to Tampa’s rich history.  For more information on GreenFest, please visit their site at – http://www.friendsofplantpark.com/greenfest/
